More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the couple.
‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to express about his personal sorrow.
"Enough time has passed that I can at last put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".
"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist
In a different piece, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.
Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed
In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to block the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the local authorities.
A legal directive issued a security hold on the files to prohibit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" associated with the ongoing investigation.
The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making divisive claims that were widely condemned by several commentators.
Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the critics recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan characterized the statements as "shocking" and remarked they revealed a concerning absence of compassion.
Rogan concluded by proposing that an adviser ought to have acted when the impulse to speak on the passing was made.
