Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
